The first consultation
At the first visit, after having answered a medical questionnaire, we listen to our patient to know his motivations and proceed to a clinical examination(state of the teeth, gum,…) and possibly radiology to assess the feasibility of the project.
At this stage, it is obvious that we offer all possible treatment solutions for the teeth so that our patient is well informed.
If the facets are chosen, we determine the number of facets necessary for the realization of the aesthetic project.
So that our patient can get an idea of the rendering, we can offer him the making of a “mask” (mock-up), made by our prosthetist, which will be tried in the mouth at the following session, in order to visualize as well as possible. the future result and together validate the project. A first impression will be necessary for the realization of the mask.
At the end of this first consultation, our patient will receive a precise estimate and a payment schedule.
If the mask proposal is accepted, an impression appointment will be made and, approximately one week later, a second appointment will be made for the mask trial in the mouth. The cost of this mask will be deducted from the final blow if we make the facets afterward.
Appointment of fingerprints
After having checked the good condition of the teeth, any fillings, and the gum, we make a very precise impression of the teeth.
During this step, we make a mold of your teeth. The technique used is absolutely painless since you just need to bite a soft dough for a few seconds.
We choose the desired shade together and take photographs of the face and teeth.
Appointment for Dental Veneers
A period of approximately one month is necessary for the fabrication of the veneers. This period may be reduced to 15 days in certain cases and depending on the number of facets.
During this period, the patient's mold is sent to our laboratory. From your impression, the laboratory will sculpt the veneers so as to perfectly match the shape of your teeth.
When our patient arrives at the office and goes to the waiting room, our assistant silanizes the veneers (it is a ceramic treatment that we do at the last moment). Then our patient is installed on the chair and we use a small brush on the teeth to remove any residues of dental plaque.
Before definitively gluing the veneers, we will try them with a test paste in order to determine the desired final shade. Indeed, at the time of the impression, we chose the shade of the veneers, but the final shade must take into account the underlying shade of the natural tooth and the composite that will bond the veneers (remember that the veneers are very thin).
This test paste is available in as many shades as the final bonding composite and allows you to choose the shade that will appeal to our patients.
We can do a lot of testing of different shades before we decide. Once the test is finished, we will proceed with the gluing of the facets.
For this, we will start by applying a phosphoric acid (safe for the teeth) for 20 seconds, we will rinse it, and then apply 5 coats of “bonding” ( bonding resin ) and 1 coat of the activator. All the products we use have been used in the USA, safe and have received accolades from American luminaries.
Then we fill each veneer with the chosen composite and place the veneers on the teeth.
The bonding is taken using a lamp that has also been tested for more than 30 years in the USA.
Once the veneers are glued, we carefully clean the teeth and check the bite. Everything is done without pain and therefore without anesthesia necessary.
Our patient is free to look at his new smile!
We provide advice on precautions to be followed for 48 hours (for example, do not eat foods that are too colored or too hard, do not wear red lipstick for women, etc. But only for 48 hours!)
A traceability and warranty document (5 years) is also given to our patient.
Follow-up appointment
We remain available to our patients for regular checks: descaling, etc. if the treating practitioner is not available, the patient is assigned to some other dentist.
When You Are not Eligible For Dental Veneers?
